Gen Z is cracking into wellness with peanuts, thanks to the National Peanut Board’s (NPB) Health Nut Club Food Truck Tour. After successful stops at Texas A&M University (Sept. 16-17), Auburn University (Sept. 23-24) and the University of Georgia (Sept. 30-Oct. 1), the tour is bringing energy, flavor and fun to three more campuses across the Southeast.
At each school, students were welcomed with an interactive peanut zone to educate and inspire peanut consumption, custom merch, Hubs Peanut Packs and, the highlight, free peanutty recipes from the Health Nut Food Truck. Led by Chef Lisa from Food Network’s “Great Food Truck Race,” the truck served three special menu items: the Peanut Butter Glow Up Crepe, Peanut Butter Power Up Smoothie and Peanut Butter Chaos Crunch Sandwich. Students also had the chance to win a custom pair of PBfit dunk shoes or a Little Peanut plush through the Guess How Many Peanuts competition on Instagram.
State peanut organizations, including the Alabama Peanut Producers Association and the Georgia Peanut Commission, joined the excitement by hosting a hands-on Peanut Discovery Zone. Students learned firsthand how peanuts grow, why they are among the most sustainable crops and just how much nutrition is packed into this small but mighty legume. At Auburn, Alabama board member Thomas Adams wowed students with insights on the crop’s versatility and impact.
The tour also powered up competition with the Fuel Zone, created in partnership with The18. On each campus, the university soccer team led students through challenges such as soccer darts, juggling contests and vertical jumps, with winners earning a spot on the tour’s live leaderboard and an exclusive Fuel Box.
In the first two stops, the tour generated an estimated 38,000 on-site impressions and 10,000 on-site interactions. NPB’s Instagram advertising reached more than 52,000 people and produced 130,000 impressions. On campus, more than 3,800 food samples and nearly 1,500 merch items were given to students.
The Health Nut Club Tour continues at Clemson University on Oct. 7-8, North Carolina State University on Oct. 15-16 and the University of Florida on Oct. 21-22. Recipes, updates and partner details are available at our website.
